About this project

I built this because "what's 15% of 240" and "what's the % change from 80 to 92" keep coming up, and most calculators just print a number. This one has three modes (X% of Y, X as a % of Y, and percentage change) and shows the working. The page also explains the traps:

  • A 50% loss needs a 100% gain to recover.
  • Percentage points aren't the same as percent.
  • Two 10% rises make 21%, not 20%.
