SolarGridCheck

SolarGridCheck is a free, independent tool for UK landowners and farmers who want to know whether their land could host a solar farm or battery storage project.

Enter a location and it returns the nearest mapped 33kV+ substation, the published headroom and constraint flags where the network operator publishes them, and an indicative lease income range. It is a preliminary screen, not a live capacity check or a valuation.

It is built on public data: substation data from all six GB Distribution Network Operators, the government's Renewable Energy Planning Database (REPD) and the NESO TEC register. Two public data pages come from the same sources: UK solar farm planning data by county and the GB grid connection queue.

It is free for landowners. If a site looks viable and the landowner asks, SolarGridCheck introduces them to solar and storage developers, who pay a fee if a project goes ahead.
